7C: Guest Faculty = Stanford University

November 1st, 2010 · No Comments · Uncategorized

The Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity at Stanford University presents many lectures, special presentations, and exhibits for the general Stanford area community. Luckily, they also enjoy recording many of these sessions and providing them for free as podcasts and University lectures online. Your task today (within one class period) is to answer the questions posed in the podcast:

1) Immigration: Is there a problem?

2) Immigration: Is there a solution?

By the end of the period you should have answers to both of the questions submitted (hard copy or digital).

Good luck!!

* ALWAYS keep in mind the cyber-safety tips we have reviewed in class. When in doubt, check with a teacher.

Welcome Greeks

October 11th, 2010 · No Comments · Uncategorized

First postings of some of our favorite Greeks are beginning to show up on all the 8th grade blogs. Remember 8th graders that your first post should be an introduction of some sort and that you should strive to connect with as many other Greeks as possible (connect with others through the comments option on each individual blog).

As a reminder, use the top headings here at FHCDS History to navigate between the various 8th grade blogs.

7B WWII posts

By now all of 7B should have posted initial thoughts regarding WWII. Your next History post should be centered around whatever ideas you are thinking about for your final project. Try to be as specific as possible even if  you only know that you want to write an essay or create a poster or ______. Throw your ideas out there so that your classmates and teachers can comment back and provide some suggestions and feedback about your ideas.
